Putting Our City and Our Future First
Law and Order: Safe Neighborhoods and Fair, Effective Enforcement
Every resident of Eureka deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood. Families should be able to walk their streets, run local businesses, and enjoy public spaces without fear. As a City Councilmember, I will work to strengthen public safety while ensuring laws are enforced fairly, consistently, and with compassion.
-
Safe Neighborhoods for Families and Seniors -- Public safety starts with visible, effective policing and strong community partnerships. I will support policies that allow law enforcement and first responders to do their jobs effectively while maintaining accountability and trust with the community.
-
Fair and Consistent Enforcement of the Law -- Laws only work when they are enforced evenly. I believe in clear standards that protect residents, respect individual rights, and hold everyone to the same expectations—because fairness is essential to public trust.
-
Addressing Homelessness with Accountability and Solutions --
Eureka’s homelessness crisis affects everyone—those living on the streets and the neighborhoods impacted by associated drug use, crime, and unsafe conditions. Compassion must be paired with responsibility. I support solutions that provide services, treatment, and pathways to stability, while also enforcing laws that keep public spaces safe and accessible for all residents. -
Restoring Order to Public Spaces -- Parks, sidewalks, and neighborhoods should be clean, safe, and welcoming. I will advocate for coordinated efforts between public safety, social services, and local organizations to restore order while helping people move toward long-term solutions.
Law and order is NOT about punishment—it IS about protection. By combining effective enforcement with practical solutions, we can restore safety, dignity, and confidence in our community while ensuring Eureka remains a city where families feel secure and respected.
